365 days of gratitude: June
June 1-
In church this afternoon, we were greeted by a chamber orchestra quartet. They were playing prelude for sacrament meeting. It was nice! AND, quite a few people in the congregation were provided headphones so we could hear the meeting in English. Since its fast Sunday, it was good to hear testimonies given and it was good to understand what was being said.
(FYI - 2 o'clock church is hard. Especially when it's fast Sunday.)
June 2-
I'm grateful for families. For the one I have, the one I came from & for friends that are like family. Lately, I've been 'adopting' people as family. Ex: Elders Reed & Powers I'm 'adopting' as my little brothers. :) Ed Upchurch, who taught the MSF class, is my recently 'adopted' Uncle Ed. :) [especially when it comes to motorcycle stuff]
Monday night I drove to the Tulsa airport to get Ben, Beth & her 2 friends. I'm glad to help. But the drive home was an obvious reminder to me that we (Ben, Beth, & I) don't have much in common. Oh well. I still love them. :)
June 3-
The Lord blesses us with safety & protection. Between driving to & from Tulsa, then driving the crew to FS & driving home again, I was rather tired from all that driving. I was falling asleep on the way home. But, God kept me safe. There were no accidents & I made it home safe & sound.
June 4-
Sleep! I love sleep! It's so great when I'm able to get a good sleep. :) It's definitely beneficial to my mental & emotional state.
June 5-
We had the missionaries over for dinner. M was supposed to have a ball game, but it was rained out. That actually made my evening easier. I enjoy feeding people. Especially when they appreciate the food.
June 6-
I'm grateful E is out of school. She can be helpful. She watched C & N so I could go to Yoga, which I love! Later in the evening, I took M & C to first Friday on the square. It was ok. Lately, it seems its been raining more than usual. It's ok, but Mers games get cancelled on account of it. Oh well. :)
June 7-
Happy anniversary to us! 12 years married, many cars, 4 girls, several pets, 4 homes later, we're still happy to be married. :) As a bonus, my sister bought us tickets to go to Wakarusa. The girls will stay the night with Aunt Celia (and cousins). This is going to be fun!
As evidenced by pictures, we did have a good time at Wakarusa. :)
June 8-
We attended church in Clarksville with Celia & her kids. Afterwards we had a birthday/farewell party at mom & dad Chandlers in Muldrow. It was Dads birthday & Bryan & Serenity are moving to NC. I'm grateful we could spend the weekend with our families.
June 9-
E was helpful to me when we went grocery shopping. M was supposed to have a game, but it was rained out. E gave a sweet little FHE. I'm grateful for good productive days.
June 10-
Mardee & her kids came over to play. :) I'm so grateful for good friends!
June 11-
The motorcycle is officially registered. (Finally!) It should have been done w/in 30 days of purchase, but it was done over 2 months later. (Oops!) I took some time to prep my Primary lesson. I'm actually starting to enjoy my callings. It's a bit of a surprise to me. What a blessing from God!
June 12-
Today I'm grateful for my family. Curtis is the best husband and father to our girls. My girls can be trying at times, but I love them so very much. E can be a good helper. She's so smart and talented. M is so loving and in various ways reminds me of me. (that has it's pros and cons) C is so happy and loves everything, especially her sisters. N is learning to talk more. She's a sweetheart!
June 13-
Curtis left the bike at home so I could take it to yoga! It was so fun riding my motorbike to yoga. After yoga, I packed up three girls and we went to Metfield park in Bella Vista. The weather was perfect! For our date, Curtis showed me the route he takes to go to work on the motorcycle. It was mostly dark on the way back. It seems another motorcycle will be in order, but that will have to wait until next year.
June 14-
What a beautiful day for a motorcycle ride! After taking E to art lessons, M to the library, and tidying up a bit, I went to Jackie's so she could go for a ride with me. The weather was perfect! We were out for several hours and put almost 100 mi on the bike. :) After I got home, Curtis took the bike for a ride and he went to Eureka. What a fun day! I'm grateful for the fun bike ride and for safety.
June 15-
Happy Fathers Day! And a surprise visit from Julia! Curtis is such a good daddy. He stayed home with N, during church, b/c N had hand foot mouth disease. Julia showed up just as church was starting! What a great day!
June 16-
What a blessing! It was another beautiful day, AND I got to take Julia for a bike ride. We rode out to Bella Vista to see the new chapel. :) Julia makes my heart happy! Mer had a game that night and the Cuties won! Mer even got two hits, both were doubles. B/c the Cuties won, they have another game tonight. (This is tournament week) After the game, we had Kikkiberry. Yum! Curtis took 3 girls home, and E and I met up with the Bernards fam at the Compton Gardens/Crystal Bridges trail. It was so good to see Julia and be able to spend a little time with her.
June 17-
Curtis left for Cincinatti. Meredith had a ball game the same time as a baptism. After dropping Mer off at her game, I attended the first portion of the baptism, then left to see the rest of Mer's game. I'm grateful that I was able to attend both the game and the baptism.
June 18-
Curtis had a rough time getting to Cincinatti. However, I'm sure we are both grateful that he got there safely.
June 19-
I am thankful for bookgroup, in general. Whether I've read the book or not, it's good to learn what the book is about. It's also good to have a chance to be social. Book group is good on several levels. :)
June 20-
Meredith's last day of 3rd grade. Instead of morning yoga, I met M at school with C and N just as lunch was ending. The kids all had a good time playing outside at recess. It was interesting, insightful, and reminiscent to watch kids play at recess. It helped me remember when I was a kid and how kids are still kids no matter what the year. (does that make sense?) Curtis came home from Cincinatti with very few, if any, troubles. (I'm thankful for all this.)
June 21-
Curtis and I took some time for a day date. We went out on the motorcycle, had lunch at Chipotle, and went to see the Modernism exhibit at Crystal Bridges. Taking time to see this exhibit was good for my soul.
June 22-
Curtis and I spoke in church. My talk topic came from a talk that Elder Uchtdorf gave in General Conference a few years ago. A brother translated my talk as I spoke. It was a little tricky but over all I think it went well. I know that the Spirit is with me when serving in this ward. And I'm grateful for that!
June 23-
Grocery shopping is good. Tiring, but good. I'm grateful we are able to have food to eat. M was supposed to have a game, but it was cancelled due to rain. We were able to have FHE instead.
June 24-
Today was better weather for M's softball game. It went into overtime and they finally won! 15-14. It was an exciting game! I Skyped with Dad. :)
June 25-
For E's bday, I helped to give her a little manicure and pedicure. She requested cheesecake, but I offered cheesecake brownies instead. We took pictures. I think she had a good day. Later, Jackie and Janet came with me to the Beautiful Lengths event at the John Q. Hammons Center. (More pictures) I'm grateful that I could donate my hair to a good cause. My hair is shorter than anticipated, but it will grow, and that's ok.

Disclaimer: It's almost the middle of July & June hadn't been posted yet. There are a few days that don't have further details on what I'm grateful for or why, but that does not make me any less grateful for what is listed.
